Spotlight Promo: Sing for Me!

Hello there Phans of the Phantom!

We’re reaching that time of the year again when our favorite production reaches its birthday! That’s right! You’ve guessed it! This 2016, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Musical brain child, Phantom of the Opera reaches its 30th Anniversary!

That’s thirty glorious years of a wonderfully thrilling production that has sent millions into a journey of mystery and music. It has set imaginations aflame which has led people’s souls into a certain kind of darkness that exhilarates the audience into sweet intoxication keeping them at the edge of their seats.

Since it’s the Phantom of The Opera’s 30th birthday, they’ve decided that they want to celebrate this grand event with EVERYONE by performing a really special A Capella.

“All I Ask of You” was popularly sung by the rising young Soprano and the Phantom’s Angel of Music, Christine Daae along with her brave young suitor, the Vicomte Raoul de Changy as a pledge of their love for each other. This time around, the people behind the production wants YOU to take part in it.

“Order your fine horses, be with them at the door.”

…a few weeks ago The Phantom of the Opera has launched its #SingForMe Choir Project. This project aims to involve Phans (Fans) all over the world in an A Capella performance to commemorate the Musical’s 30th Anniversary.

A shout out to all singers have been posted on their Facebook Page. If you have a passion for singing and perhaps for music, then they’re inviting you to grab that video recorder and record yourselves singing the piece chosen for the project. Parts for Soprano, Tenor, Alto and Bass have been prepared for you to choose from. Score sheets and audio files are also available for download to help and guide you in your journey through this unique musical adventure.

For more information on this Project along with its mechanics, just visit:

Submission of entries for the #SingForMe Choir Project ends on the 2nd of September which happens to be a Friday.

So to all of you Phans and singers alike out there who wishes to take part in this very special performance, they’re looking for you. Who knows; if you let the music caress you, then maybe your soul will take flight. As the start of the productions comes ever closer, let us all experience then the power of the music that he writes.

As for my final commentary for this Promo Spotlight…

In the famous words of our beloved Opera Ghost,

“Sing for me!”

HeistClub- The Launch: After Run

Welcome to K.Ken Cua’s Blog and I am Magsi Rover from @gpicks. Today, I’ll be guest posting for a quick after run of the events that took place at The Study By Enderun  located at The Podium Ortigas last June 25.  Together with our little team of volunteer supporters.

We made a collective effort to support the #CrimeFiction #FilipinoAuthors of the Philippines and here are some juicy photo clips and details of the event.

Fiction is the truth inside the lie.

-Stephen King

Now, I know that I may have shared to you guys from our personal space but this time. I’ll be talking about how creatively supportive Ken Cua had been during our Launch. Unfortunately we weren’t able to take a decent photo ops of our little team, so we will just have to leave you guys to your imagination on who Ken is from our staff.  In the mean time, here’s our photo clip stories coming up next!

The Study by Enderun is located at the fourth floor of Podium Ortigas.  If you’re curious about what the place is all about, you can click on the link of the name at the start of this post.

Now on wards to our after run photo clip stories!

The venue proper is a standard sized classroom with a projector and white board. Our mission?

To create a mood and vibe of a hot-seat crime fiction talk show stage for the authors themselves. It was a tough challenge but luckily we were able to project an image of how the set would look like on the day of the launch.

I thought about the red velvet colored drapes that I used back in 2009 for a short film, and we began to tie it perfectly around the white board.   After securing the curtain we decided to pull down the projector while our Tech Guy Lyber prepared the rest of the sounds, presentations and the likes.

IMG_8600IMG_8580 The Walls looked to plain and if you guys remembered our earlier post about  the 7 FAST FACTS ABOUT THE LAUNCH!

This was what we were talking about!

White hand print designs and the graffiti style letter was a welcome add on by our Tech Guy-Lyber, Shoujo and Ken!

kudos for the quick thinking!

Although we were all working together, a small team of  five we were still running a few minutes behind schedule. Even though it turned out like we were on a

race against time, we were  happy to hear a massive back up coming from our amazing supporters. Some friends and family from the core-organizers came in to help set-up this wonderful mini nook that we called the little black market. (Just Kidding! talk about roleplaying on the day of the launch.)

The mini-book store now complete and all that was left was the registration area and the mug-shot avenue. It didn’t take long before everything was ready and we were all set to begin the program.

The Program began a little rough but we were able to keep it at bay without deviating from our original planned time. Here in the first photo right down below, Director Aris Cuevas after his talk about his short film trailer release.

shortly after were the high lights of the program. The #HeistClub authors themselves!

While we from the far right end corner as both emcee and organizer of the evening. Magsi Rover with Cris helped our audience get to know the authors of every bundle from #HeistClub!

After a few grilling hours and we were able to complete the Question & Answer segment for all the bundle authors. While we proceeded with the raffle promo’s IMG_8676 (1)here’s a picture of  author Racquel Sara safe guarding (kidding! I swear I’m bad at making jokes.) Preparing the freebie cup cakes from Kwisshy’s Haven!

What an epic #Heist to include cup cakes huh. Well, we thought about better ways to make it memorable and who would want to miss out on those tasty sugar filled awesome give-aways?

IMG_8694While there is much more that we could say and share to you about what happened that fateful day.

A job well done for all of us at the production team because…

What Book Launch would ever be complete without the lovely authors signing their printed book copies.

Gpicks and together with Ken Cua were very pleased and happy with the experience to extend our support to these amazing people. Whom without a doubt, took a lot of time and effort to write their stories despite their busy schedules.

I hope you guys enjoyed our short and yet, brief after run write-up. Enjoy reading and don’t forget to follow us on our social media sites. Also, please do check out Ken Cua’s coming soon book releases!
